As a candidate, you place your trust in engineeringsearch when submitting personal information to us. In recognition of that trust, we are committed to protecting such information.

In accordance with the National Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), we make the following disclosure with regard to your personal information.

Collection

We will only collect and use personal information that relates to the purpose disclosed at the time of collection, unless we have received your consent to use the information for another purpose or we are required to or authorised by law. Typically, we would collect information for the following purposes:

• to assess your suitability for permanent or contract placement with a client;
• to assess your suitability for engagement by us for contract roles, and for management of such work placements;
• to manage client and business relationships; and
• marketing.

We will only collect personal information about you that is strictly related to seeking your suitability for a position for which you have applied. This can include references either verbal or written from referees, and substantiation of qualifications. Candidates may be required to complete a Due Diligence Authorisation Form to enable us to verify information provided on their resume.

Disclosure

We will only disclose your personal information for the purpose that was agreed when it was provided. Generally, this will be for the purpose of either permanent or contract work placements with our clients. We will always endeavour to obtain your permission prior to providing your information to clients. Information may also be provided to clients or independent parties carrying out work on behalf of engineeringsearch.

Types of Information Held

Information collected and held by us typically includes:

• Personal information submitted by candidates such as address and other contact details, nationality, languages spoken, employment history, and educational qualifications.
• Results of psychometric testing carried out when short listing for job vacancies.
• Information required to manage work placements as an independent contractor with us, including ABN, bank account details and terms of engagement.
• Other information required to manage business and client relationships.

Data Integrity and Security

We will take all reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure. From time to time, information may be exposed to independent parties engaged by us during the carrying out of their duties, for example IT Consultants. Such parties will be bound by the principles in this privacy statement.

Unless advised otherwise, we will assume that all information held is accurate, complete and current. If you wish to update, correct or withdraw any information previously provided, please contact us.

Access

You have a right to access any personal information pertaining to you that we are holding, subject to some exceptions outlined in the National Privacy Principles. In particular, this may include the situation where the release of such information would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others. If you wish to obtain access to your personal information, please send us a written request.
